At times, the asbestos shingles are in a perfect state. In such situations disturbing the asbestos would not be a great idea. Unnecessary disturbing of asbestos could lead to the asbestos becoming airborne. One should only remove the asbestos shingles if they are in a crumpled or damaged state.
