Inground pool covers are essential
During winter when the swimming pool is not generally used it is best to keep the pool covered because chances are that someone might trip and fall in the pool if visibility becomes poor. This is exactly what had happened last winter when the pool in our backyard was filled with snow and we had not installed a pool cover, Jane, my eight year old daughter had somehow wandered near the pool when she was playing with a rubber ball. The ball had rolled onto the snow filled pool and Jane being a toddler wandered after it. Had I not been keeping a watch after her she might have tripped and fallen inside the freezing water? I yelled at her to stop and managed to get to her in time. God alone knows what would have been the outcome if she had fallen inside the frozen pool. Next day, the first thing that I did was to install one of the many Inground Pool Covers that are available so that incidents like these were never repeated.
