Down to the sale

Monday, July 14th, 2008

I really love to go shopping but when it comes to buying mechanical equipment and especially gardening equipment I am often very unsure as to what type of stuff I should be buying or which model is the best. However when I look in the newspaper I often find there are lawnmowers for sale, sometimes on a secondhand basis, and I was therefore able to find myself a real bargain. I am glad I found this because it really helped me save money.

John Deere mowers are excellent

Friday, June 13th, 2008

I was looking for an electric mower because I was tired of the temperamental start-ups of the traditional mower. That is when a friend recommended John Deere Mowers, saying they were the best in the business and that I should go in for an electric model. Frankly, the cost at first put me off because it was prohibitively expensive for me but then the company offered easy financing and I decided to go for it. Touch wood! I have not been disappointed. The mower works like a dream and can smoothen out the most uneven patches of my lawn. I am glad I made this choice and would highly recommend these mowers to everyone.

A fence that gives you strength is an ornamental iron fence

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

I am a member of the Baptist Church Society and visit the church every Sunday. On my last visit to the church, I found that the outer area of the church- i.e. the sprawling lawns outside it was getting very dirty as nearby inhabitants would throw their dumps here and there and there was no proper maintenance. I placed an idea before the society to get the area of the church cordoned off with an Ornamental Iron Fence and even offered a portion of the cost as donation. The committee liked my idea so much that there were many other willing donors and the estimated cost was collected within minutes. We have installed ornamental iron fencing and have topped it with beautiful accessories. I bet, the looks have changed a lot and the garden can also be maintained properly now.

An electric lawn mower was the answer

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

I really love to do gardening, because I think there is something really relaxing about being out in the fresh air and dealing with plants and flowers. But one of the things I always find to be a chore is to mow the lawn, and it was only after buying an Electric Lawn Mower that I found it was much easier than it had been before. My lawn mower is really fast and after just a few hours my lawn looks really neat and clean and I really wish that I had bought an electric model before now and saved myself a lot of time and trouble.

The wondrous greenhouse

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

My little niece was full of questions and wondered if we could grow tropical fruits in this cold country we lived in. My nephew wisely explained to her the miracle of a greenhouse. We decided to set up a small one in our backyard, although some of them may be very big buildings, and are also known as glasshouses or hothouses. We discovered that there are two types - glass Greenhouses and plastic ones. The high tech glass variety cultivate vegetables and flowers. The laurels for these go to Dutch technologists, who are the leading manufacturers. They have screening devices to keep out direct radiation and heating arrangements to maintain the temperature at the exact level, and on top of this a computer in charge of automatic heating controls.

Types of Bird Baths

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

There are also electric powered bird baths available for the birds. They can be attached to the power supply at your home, thus keeping the water in the backyard bird baths. These baths have to be placed very close to your house so as to have a proper electric connection. There is also a risk of potential or unseen dangers from the cord that runs through the backyard. You can choose any type of birdbath appropriate to you. The type of birdbath you select will decide the location of your backyard bird gardens. A bird bath with an integrated solar panel will have to be located in the sun, whereas the one with detached panels will have to spot in shady areas.

Breeding Worms For Money

Monday, December 31st, 2007

The other day I chanced upon an old friend in the nursery where I went to buy some compost for my plants. We got to talking and she told me that she had taken up commercial worm breeding on a huge scale and that she was indeed doing very well and also enjoying what she was doing.

More About Container Water Gardens

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Container water garden are a new phenomenon. They allow people with small homes to have their own water gardens. The only difference is that the plants are grown in small water filled containers. The plant is placed in a pot which is already heavy and packed with clay. After that it is submerged in a water container.

To make one for yourself, fill the container with chemical-free water. Put some fish, snails or guppies in it, use a submersible pump to keep water moving. Although this container water garden is very simple, it adds valuable beauty to your room.
